Crew Drugs Testing

Intrepid Risk provides on-site drugs and alcohol screening services, analytical testing services and workplace testing collections.  Carried out by our impartial and independent collection teams, our teams can deploy at short notice to test crew for so called legal highs or New Psychoactive Substances (NPS).

With innovative onsite screening kits and laboratory based confirmation testing services, all of our tests carry the CE mark, denoting that all essential requirements set by Directive EC/98/79, in-vitro diagnostic devices are adhered to.

Rapid Screening Results

Fast, reliable test results at the point of collection enable our clients to make accurate, informed decisions about substance abuse issues that could compromise the safety of the yacht and those on board.

Legally Defensible Drug Testing

Laboratory confirmation testing provides legally defensible results for a court of law or industrial tribunal, and our sample collection process follows a full chain of custody protocol.

Urine Testing

We can carry out a number of different tests on urine samples producing a result by the next day. The testing procedure involves the use of both immunoassay screening and liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry-mass spectrometry (LCMSMS) confirmation testing.  The confirmations from these tests are legally defensible and our test kits undergo the full ‘chain of custody’ procedure.

Hair Testing

Using samples of hair provides the longest detection window available. This method of testing is widely used in the legal field.  The benefits of opting for hair testing include the fact that a substance will remain detectable in a sample for a considerable time after the hair has been removed from the head. This makes a historical case of drug use easier to establish. In addition, as the collection is non-invasive it is difficult to interfere with a sample.

Collections Network

Intrepid Risk has a network of collectors ready to be deployed to execute planned programmes of work on board your yacht or ready to respond to an emergency or for cause collection to attend site within 48 hours.

Accreditation

Our laboratory is accredited to ISO17025 by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) for its in-house laboratory services.  UKAS accreditation number 8771.
